The Great Mongolian ruler who united the nomadic tribes of Northeast Asia and founded the greatest empire in history says doesn't remember raping and murdering thousands of people.
"I now choose to live as a modern man"
In response to recent allegations that he raped and murdered thousands of people, Khan released a statement, saying he was “beyond horrified” to hear the thousands of accounts of rape and that he did not “remember the thousands of drunken encounters” as it must have been hundreds of years ago. Khan said the stories inspired him “to address other things about my life,” stating “I now choose to live as a modern man.”
Critics are calling his apology as well as coming out as “a modern man” insincere and a poor attempt to deflect from his past crimes.
